こんにちは、Japanese with Yoshikoへようこそ！今日は「日本のアニメーターの現状」についてお話しします。今日のフレーズは「根付く」です。意味を知らない人はどういう意味か想像しながら聞いてみてくださいね。

日本のアニメは世界中に多くのファンがいるほど人気の文化ですね。日本語学習者の中にはアニメがきっかけで日本語を勉強するようになった人が多いのではないでしょうか。また、日本の子供たちは小さいころからアニメに囲まれて育つので、アニメに親しみがあります。そんな日本文化に根付いている、外国人に愛されているアニメを作っている人たちの生活はどうなっているのか？収入はどれくらいなのでしょうか。

まず始めに、アニメ業界の基本情報を数字でお伝えしましょう。1990年代の年間のアニメの作品数は約100本、現在は急増して400本を超えています。アニメの需要は十分あり、市場も年々拡大しています。アニメーターにもいろいろ職種がありますが、原画を描く人たちは2019年時点で最低5,200人はいました。外国人スタッフはその中で15-20%ほどです。
基本的にアニメーターはフリーランスで働いていることが多く、もらえる報酬はかなり少ないです。特に20代前半の経験の浅いアニメーターだと、1日14時間以上働いても満足な生活を送れる収入は得られません。レストランのウェイターやスーパーのレジ打ちをしたほうがよっぽど稼げます。薄給で休みなく働くので、うつ病になる人も多いそうです。
どうして、アニメーターの収入がそんなに低いのでしょうか。理由は、アニメ業界の構造が悪いからです。多くのアニメ制作会社は、さまざまな企業から資金を出資してもらいます。しかし、50年以上前のアニメと比べるとクオリティをあげるため原画を描く量が数倍から数十倍増えているにもかかわらず、資金は50年前とほぼ同じ。少ない資金でアニメを作らないといけないので、コストをカットしなければいけません。そこで、コストが安いフリーランスに仕事を依頼します。ほかの業界では、そういう状態だと仕事をしたい人がいなくなり、企業も賃金をあげるしかなくなりますが、アニメ業界は違います。やはり、アニメの仕事に携わりたいという人やアニメーターという職業に憧れがある人が多いのです。離職率が高い一方、挑戦してくる人も絶えないというのが現状です。そうすると必然的に制作会社も賃上げをせず、この悪循環がいつまでも改善しないのです。
賃金を上げるために製作費をあげるのはどうか？出資企業からは「アニメはドラマよりも安く作れる」と思われており、もし通常の賃金を払うと製作費が数倍に膨れ上がります。そうすると拡大中のアニメ市場が減少に向かう可能性があります。政府からもいろいろな支援がありますが、なかなか改善には向かっていないようです。
しかし、個人レベルで若きアニメーターたちを支援している人たちもいます。クラウドファンディングで集めた資金でアニメーターたちの寮を運営している団体が一例です。
日本文化を代表するアニメを支えるアニメーターの皆さんがよりよいアニメを作れるように、クラウドファンディングなどの支援を通して彼らの生活が改善していくことを願っています。

In informal settings, a resounding agreement might be expressed with "you bet" or "hell yeah," and a casual "totally" or "yup" carries a similar sentiment. For matters necessitating decorum, a formal approach may entail phrases like "I wholeheartedly agree" or "indeed," while "I concur" and "affirmative" maintain a level of professionalism. Politeness sweetens the agreement in expressions such as "I'd be happy to" and "that sounds wonderful," demonstrating eagerness to comply. A touch of wit adds a layer of humor to the affirmation, as seen in expressions like "in a New York minute" or "is the Pope Catholic?" In more refined circles, the upper class might communicate their agreement with endearing phrases like "absolutely, my dear" or "most assuredly," maintaining a level of warmth. For royalty, an affirmation is conveyed with grace and respect, as in "by all means, Your Majesty" or "it would be my honor, Your Highness," underscoring the formal nature of the response.
