How to understand this lyric from Taylor Swift's Anti-Hero? I find it very hard to relate from its context. "root for" is a synonym of "support"? What does antihero mean exactly? Is this a question that only the compositor can answer, or it's a semantic one 🤔 😕

An antihero is a type of dramatic persona. The antihero acts in a way that definitely does not allow him to be considered a hero in any traditional sense. It is not necessarily someone who lacks morals or admirable qualities. Indeed, an antihero can be heroic in some private sense that evokes our sympathy. The best example I can think of is Huckleberry Finn. He behaved in ways that were, in the eyes of society, sinful. And yet, he is a lovable character, and to be admired in some higher sense.

You are correct. ROOT in this case means to support, be on the side of, etc. It is frequently used in relation to sports, e.g. "root for your favorite team."
An ANTIHERO is a person/character who is the protagonist of the story (i.e. the hero), even though they have a lot of bad qualities and kind of seem like they should be the antogonists. But they are the main character, so we tend to 'root' for them. Examples:
Michael Corleone in the Godfater, Scarface, Tony Soprano, Mark Zuckerberg in Social Network, Captain Jack Sparrow, Dexter (i think, never watched it), John Rambo in Rambo I etc.
