What is the difference between "surveillance camera" and "security camera"? I am selling home cameras, what is the difference between these 2 words? Can they be used interchangeably?

Generally, the word "security" means protection and safety. "Surveillance" means spying on someone, watching someone secretly. A camera outside a house to protect against break-ins is being used for "security." A camera inside a factory to see if employees are working hard is being used for "surveillance." I don't know about product naming. If I search for "wireless home surveillance camera" and "wireless home security camera" the same products pop up. Many people feel that "security" is good, but "surveillance" is spying and sneaky and bad. If you are actually selling them it might be better marketing to use the word "security," but include hidden keywords, so that a web search for "surveillance camera" will find your website.

Technically, there's slight differences. That being a security camera is used to detect motion. And a surveillance camera watches a suspicious individual or persons, specifically. Generally, the words are used interchangeably. Only if you're in the market, then you can explain the differences in detail.
