I don't think that it is beneficial to participate in the TPP. Because Japanese farmers would suffer heavy damage under the TPP. I think there are some disadvantages. To begin with, the industry of the importing country will be taken away because of the cheap and large amount of imported goods. Next, there is a possibility that farmers will be forced to close businesses, which would increase the number of unemployed massively. On the other hand, there is an advantage of increasing Japan’s export competitiveness. Tariffs may also be eliminated. However, our biggest concern is that many foreign agricultural products will not meet the food safety standards of our country. Japan's food is safe and reliable. Also, I think there are many people in Japan who eat food grown in Japan. It is important to be close to each person's feelings. Moreover, we should know both advantages and disadvantages. In conclusion, I don't think that it is beneficial to participate in the TPP.
