There has been much discussion revolving around the issue of whether this development is advantageous or it has more drawbacks. In this essay, I will explain why this is a positive development. The merits of using social media in terms of connecting to loved ones is you can save enough time; as a result, you can utilize the time required to visit them on other important tasks. Specifically, if you can talk to them being online, you can easily avoid the travel time and traffic. Secondly, if you are far away from your family member, you can still be connected with them; hence, you can significantly get over the stress of being away from intimate people. Furthermore, internet service has been revolutionized in such a way that you can access it from wherever you are, at any time. For instance, you work in an organization where you are fully occupied, but if you want to communicate with someone for important work you need not visit anywhere, you can simply use your mobile phone and use internet to do so. Admittedly, socializing through internet has fewer distractions. The reason for this is if a school children use internet for socialization, students would be distracted from their studies. Consequently, their performance in education may decline. Nevertheless, this can be kept under control by parental monitoring.
