When you arrive in Poland, you have to eat “Rosół” and “Schabowe” with potatoes. Rosół is a very fat soup which is cooked on bones from beef. There are also some vegetables there like onion, carrot, celery, leek etc. Some people add to this seasoning “Maggie” but it is like cheating for older generations. The best thing about this dish is that it’s perfect before drinking alcohol and when you have a hangover! “Schabowy” is a big flat chop from a hog, really big! like half of your plate. There are few types but mostly we eat it with little coating which is made from eggs, milk, and flour. It is served with potatoes and some cucumber salad. Many families, especially in the countryside, treat those two dishes like “must have” every Sunday. In a “milk bar” you can eat both dishes for less than 8 $. It is really worth trying if you will be in Poland!
