Practice using the simple past tense and continuous past tense by telling us what you did this mother's day. On mother's day, we decided to visit a reptile park near Scottburgh in Kwazulu Natal. Strange place to take your mother on mother's day, I know. But it was fascinating even for someone who does not like reptiles. First, we had to buy tickets to enter the building. We all thought it was quite expensive nevertheless we were very hungry and the restaurant was on the other side of the ticket office. We went through and made our way to the restaurant. While we were waiting for our food we enjoyed the spectacular view of the ocean. Monkeys were jumping from branch to branch and sometimes landing on the tables only a few feet away from us. The food was delicious. Afterward, we followed the path through the crocodile park. We saw over a hundred crocodiles basking in the sun like statues. Some with their mouths open, some invisible to the naked eye in the water. We walked around the park gaping at these dangerous creatures waiting for 3 o'clock. The lady at the ticket office informed us that at 3'clock we can watch how they feed the crocodiles. I was very excited to see the crocodile feeding. While they were feeding the crocodiles they moved around, hissing, and gaping. We got the opportunity to observe their behavior up close. Before the crocodile feeding, we stumbled upon an exhibit that seemed to be boring at first but then we saw it. A 5-meter-long crocodile weighing around 700 kilograms named Henry. Henry was captured in 1903 by sir Henry. Apparently, the croc was terrorizing the local tribes in Botswana. The tribe hired sir Henry who was an Elephant hunter to capture the crocodile. After capturing the crocodile the tribe consulted their ancestors and decided that as punishment he should be kept alive. At the age of 85, he was donated to Croc world. Today he is the oldest known crocodile to live in captivity. He lives in his enclosure with ten females.
