Hello, I want to ask a question to those who learned the English language from scratch. Did you ever watch films with or without subtitles? I need an answer to my question. Thank you.

Hello, being a non-native speaker, I used in the past and I continue to use films and TV series to improve my listening skills. However, I suggest this method only to upper-intermediate or advanced students who own enough vocabulary and listening skills to understand at least the gist of what you are watching. In this case, my suggestion is to alternate watching these film with subtitle at the beginning, then try to take out them to test whether your listening skills have improved or not. If you start from scratch, based on my personal experience, podcasts for your level are a much better alternative to film and TV series.

greetings Im guessing you are asking for yourself. The fact that you are curious about this method alone indicates that you should definitely give it a shot. Like '''take massive action'' type shot. In that process youll be able to decipher what is helpful and what feels like ''a work out'' some examples: - watch movies youve already seen without subtitles - pause a new movie and decide for the next X minutes (5-10) that youll watch without subtitles - pause a scene where the way they talk caught your attention, and just replay it
