What does it mean when someone won't acknowledge you?

I'd watched English drama to improve vocabulary, phrase and slang. However, there are a whole lots of daily conversation sentence that I don't understand. This is one of them.

As the following, I put on a clip of conversation.

A: I think there is a girl spying on us.

B: dark wag? button nose?

A: Yeah

B: Don't acknowledge her.

The person was replying don't acknowledge her. Dose it means to snub the girl  or be indifferent to the girl?

Can you compose  sentences including acknowledge for me?

Thanks for your help:)

Yes, you have it exactly right. To not acknowledge someone is a snub. It can mean to ignore or not take notice of.

The opposite would be to acknowledge. This shows gratitude or thanks. It can also mean to admit a truth.

"Don't acknowledge her," in the context of that conversation, to me means "ignore her" or even "don't look at her."

Some examples sentences using "acknowledge":

(A politician speaking to a crowd)

"I acknowledge that I have made some mistakes in the past..."

(Person speaking to a former friend)

"You are ignoring me! I tried to wave to you in the hall yesterday, and you wouldn't even acknowledge me."

To acknowledge someone is to let them know that you see, hear, or notice them. If you don't acknowledge her, you might be ignoring her. If what she says is rude or annoying, you don't want let her know that you think so. "If you acknowledge your bullies, they will act meaner."

You also acknowledge people when they are talking to you and you want to let them know that you are listening. "make sure to acknowledge your teachers when they are lecturing, even if you don't understand what is being taught."

Hope this helped. :)
