My own interpretation of ¨hold me¨ is that it is the second definition of ¨ hold¨given in this definition that I googled, to:
keep or detain (someone).
So I the way I took it he means: so you thought you could keep me.

1. I think that hold me in that context means something like "to take care of me", or "got my back".
I don't know why you think that you could hold me when you can't get by by yourself = I don't know why you think that you can take care of me when you can't get care of yourself.

2. seam of a dream sounds like the thing that keeps a dream alive. I mean, when it says "And I don't know who would ever want to tear the seam of someone's dream" = And I don't know who would ever want to kill/destroy someone's dream.
3. I don't quite understand what does that line mean, or why was it introduced there, it seems like it doesn't match with the rest of the lyrics.
