How to tip a tutor I wanted to see if there was a way to tip my tutor, she is fantastic and very patient.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Thank you for these great ideas - I would love it if they had a tip button.  I know that for some people it might seem rude, but I feel like my teacher is so great and I pay her too little.   I did send money to her skype account, so that might help a little.  I will do as everyone has suggested and have her set a new price for the class as a tip - but I wonder how much of the class money is paid back to italki?

There's no feature for tipping on italki, therefore the best way to do it is by scheduling a lesson

with her, and sending her a message to let her know that you had to schedule a lesson just to

tip her and not to take that lesson for real :)

If the price of her lesson is not what you have in mind for the tip, ask her if she could offer a

lesson for a price that matches the tip you intend to give, and book that lesson as I explained

above, and confirm it after its time passed as any usual lesson.

I think that one way to be very nice to your amazing tutor, is to tell us her name. :) I'm sure she'd find it wonderful to get new students through your recommendation. I see that as a way of tipping too. That's one of the reasons I made my lesson history public.

Wanda suggested that I tell my instructors name in-case others want to use her too, she would love that .

Her name is "Carmen B. Azuaje J" from Venezuela, she is really the best.   She is very patient with me, and keeps pushing me each session.    I hope you all sign up.

Just a side note, some cultures are offended by tips.   I don't think Spanish/Latino is.  But it's worth noting, if you decide to learn Japanese. :)
