Tongue Twister

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked.

If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

- Tagalog tongue twister

While watching news awhile ago  about the upcoming holy week for the Catholic and Christian devotees. I read the caption and I misread one word which is "pananampalataya" (faith in English), then I read it again loudly but it turns out to be funny because I really can't pronounce it correctly and fast.

Another word from my native language that tongue twister for me to pronounce is the "nakakapagpabagabag" (worrisome) word.

I wonder if there are tongue twisting words or sentence in your native language too. Care to share those.  ◕‿◕

Tongue twister is really fun. :D

About the second word that I mentioned above, it was actually pronounce syllable by syllable like what I said to Evelyn. It's NA-KA-KA-PAG-PA-BA-GA-BAG. :)

I recently came across this one-- A mathematician can mathematise mathematics mathematically. So, if a mathematician can mathematise mathematics mathematically, why can't I mathematise mathematics mathematically like a mathematician, who mathematises mathematics mathematically?"

"A mathematician can mathematise mathematics mathematically. So, if a mathematician can mathematise mathematics mathematically, why can't I mathematise mathematics mathematically like a mathematician, who mathematises mathematics mathematically?"

Those two words you have mentioned are so tough to pronounce. First one(pananampalataya) is a bit easier than the second one(nakakapagpabagabag). But the second one is easy to remember-- Nakaka-pagp-a-bag-a-bag.

English:

Betty Baker got a bit of bitter butter. But she thought "if I put that butter in my batter it will make my batter bitter." So Betty Baker got a bit of better butter, and now her batter's better.

I don't think I'm brave enough to try those Tagalog tongue twisters. :)
