What the closest language to English?

I am just putting this out there. The closest language to English is also by nature the easiest language for native English speakers to learn. I am not talking about Dutch, even though Dutch is closely related to English, and it too is very easy for native English speakers to learn.

No the language that I am talking about is Frisian. This is a language that shares it's roots with English, but over the last 500 years or so it has become heavily influenced by Dutch, and German. (The Frisian islands in the north of the Netherlands).

Frisian: Bûter, brea, en griene tsiis is goed Ingelsk en goed Frysk.

English: Butter, bread, and green cheese is good English and good Fries.

Can you think of any other languages that are closely related to English?

Scots is considered by many linguists to be a language in its own right and not a group of dialects of English. However there is a high degree of mutual intelligibility between the two languages, although some dialects, such as Doric, are not so easy for an English speaker to understand

Paradoxically, but French!... You can argue and say - this is a Romance, not Germanic language!!! By the way, 30℅ of French, 30℅ of Latin and some amount of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese lexical borrowings make English more Romance then Germanic (from the lexical point of view).

Impressive similarity, never thought that languages could be that close(unless the example sentence is just cherry-picked one)
According to this diagram(https://goo.gl/zLd02G), some languages are even more alike. For example, Spanish and Portuguese.

Tsiis...that's a nice word. I think Afrikaans is similar to English too, more so than Dutch.
