American Singers Popular in Japan This is a cultural question I have about Japan. If anyone from Japan could respond I would really appreciate it! What singers from America are popular in Japan? I think Kelly Osbourne was popular for a little while over a decade ago, then I believe Avril Lavigne also was popular. Is this correct? What other American musicians are very popular in Japan? Thanks!

In addition, I think Chainsmokers, Selena Gomez, Calvin Harris and Ed Sheeran  popular artist for young people.

I watched Skrillex play with よしき at the Fujirock '18 festival at 苗場スキー場.  I think it was in 新潟県 if I recall, but I noticed a lot of Western artists playing there.  I remember Post Malone, Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson, and Vampire Weekend to name a few.  I was a little surprised that the line up contained so many groups that were not native Japanese.  I watched a good chunk of it livestreamed on youtube a few weeks back and it seemed like the crowds were really into the Western bands.

Personally I also love ☆彡Sara Bareilles☆彡, have great memories with her songs, but I didn't know she was volunteering in 2011 after the Tsunami disaster. What an incredible person is she....  She will also be here this year after three years.

I’ve heard the name, Kelly Osbourne, and I actually would listen to Avril Lavigne a lot myself. I don’t know what musicians are popular among Japanese teenagers or people in their 20s now because I don’t listen to music as much as I used to, but Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5 and P!NK have been really popular. Among rock fans, Bon Jovi was (still is?) really popular, too.   
The Backstreet Boys have always been my personal best and they will always be, though, lol
