Series you didn't like and stopped watching.
Hi everybody!

I would like to know about any series that someone has recommended to you but when you started watching it, it just disappointed you so it didn't full your expectations.

So, could you share the name of the series?
What did people tell you about that series so that you felt motivated or eager to watch it?
And, what was the thing you didn't like about the show so you felt disappointed?

I look forward to hearing from you.
Corrections are welcome :)
Have a great day!

Lots of friends and family recommended "Peaky Blinders", saying it was gripping an interesting historical drama. However, I thought it was too violent and prefer light-hearted dramas.

I usually watch pseudo-historical series, and my standards are very, very low - I really don't care if almost everyone is a Mary/Marty Sue, I enjoy watching plotters discussing palace intrigues out loud and if there are less than five people in love with the main character - well that's just awesome! Perfectly balanced, in my humble opinion. But. A few weeks ago my friend (she knows my tastes) suggested that I watch "步步惊心" (Scarlet Heart), and everything was alright but at some point I realised that fast-forwarding doesn't help anymore: some episodes were devoted solely to crying. I mean, seriously, you skip a scene in which the main female character cries only to enjoy a close-up of another character's tear rolling down his cheek. Now, even my boundless patience has its limits so I don't know if everyone dies in the end (as usual) or not. Can't bring myself to finish it.

A close relative of mine recommended two shows that she really liked: "Doctor Who" and "Anne of Green Gables".

I really, really wanted to like "Doctor Who", but I just couldn't after watching multiple episodes. It had its moments but overall I found it corny, a bit dull, and the computer graphics were average at best. The only things I liked about it were David Tennant, the Van Gogh episode, and the Pompeii episode. As for "Anne of Green Gables" on Netflix, I had to stop watching after the first episode. I heard it's just the way she's written in the books, but the actress for Anne was incredibly annoying and dramatic. What's worse is that she would not stop talking throughout the entire episode, so I was done after that.

Hi!

Depending on what you like I would recommend the following on Netflix:

1) Planet Earth (a BBC documentary about wildlife)

2) Sons of Anarchy (motorbike gang drama set in California)

3) Arrow (Marvel series about a billionaire turned vigilante)

Hope this helps.
