Have you ever been to China? What do you think of China after you traveled to China? Have you ever been to China? What do you think of China after you traveled to China? I hope non Chinese people can answer this question. I personally have only been to China three times. I just want to know what others think of China, is it too different from your own country?

I lived in Shanghai for six years and travelled a bit within the country. Like everywhere, there are good and bad things. The air pollution and traffic is a big problem but I love the culture and the food. Shanghai is like a second home to me.

I love this video: https://youtu.be/9kNRtd-q8Rk.

Yeah, seems like many people have negative views about China.

Been there only once, to Shanghai and Suzhou. (which means my experiences are limited)

My impression is that young people in urban areas are fine. They are generally friendly and not aggressive, contrary to the stereotype. Many of them are open to try new things, different cultures etc.

I felt people tended to become more temperamental and rough as you go farther from the "modernized areas". A quarrel can break out over a tiny issue, which will quickly escalate into a screaming match. Maybe that's normal in certain parts of China, I have no idea.

Also, I sensed during my travel that people might be concerned about where they were are within the societal hierarchy. Lack of respect as humans towards cleaning staff in public areas, for example.

I am very curious as to what local Chinese think though.

You sound like a Sinophile because most of your post are related to China:) Why don't you share your own experience as you had been to China thrice?

I visited Guangzhou this July for work and this was the fifth time I've come there.I thought the city achieved remarkable development, especially around Canton Tower.I found automatic convenience stores which you can't see in Japan.

Manual operations are becoming increasingly mechanized.
