The third person singular adds an s:

I run.

You run.

He runs.

Any one person or thing that you are talking about takes the third person singular verb form which adds an s in the present tense.

Bad driving causes many accidents.

Joy comes in the morning.

Pride comes before a fall.

My cat writes restaurant reviews in Sanskrit.

He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.
