What you have written is perfectly polite. :) If you wanted to be extra polite, you could say something like, "excuse me, I was just wondering if there is class today?" Or, "could you tell me whether we have class today?"

Hi Rafaelle,
The best way to make a question sound more polite is by using an "indirect question."
For example: Could you tell me if there is a class today?
Notice that the word order is different to that of a standard question: Is there -> ...there is....
Feel free to message me if you have any more questions :-)
