Getting a 'thank you' for your corrections and answers How important is it for you to get a thumps up or a 'thank you' for your corrections or answers? There was a guy who did a lot of corrections, but it seemed to him that people did not appreciate it enough, so he stopped. According to my experience there are many people who are very grateful and happy, but some neither write a comment nor give thumps up. How are your experiences and how important is a positive feedback for you?

I'm happy when they don't say "thank-you". That lets me know that my attempt to help that particular poster was of no value, so I won't waste my time trying to help them again. There are so many good people who could use free help, and so little time to take care of them all. We have to be selective.

Even if nobody thanked me for something I've done I'll be fine 🤔 why would I be angry I did it because I want to in the first place if I didn't want i could have not done it  if I do it to be appreciated or want people to thank me that is another thing

Well... I understand that having high expectations of others is unreasonable. Still, I think that if someone posts an entry, it's asking people to spend their time and energy correcting this entry, and effort must be appreciated.

I don't hold grudges, but if I corrected someone's notebook and they didn't react to it, then I assume they didn't look at it/it didn't help them and then I avoid correcting their entries since they can't draw anything from it. Better to correct the entries of someone who can learn from your corrections, don't you think.

Not thanking someone who helps you is rude. At least in my culture and I´m sure that´s true in most cultures. I do a lot of correcting and even though I do it to help and not to receive a "thank you", I agree with what others have already mentioned, that it doesn't speak well of the person asking for help.

Even though we're in this anonymous internet world, I think we should still treat each other respectfully. If someone sees you struggling with your groceries and helps you put them in your car, would you really just drive away without even acknowledging the person?

In general, i do believe that saying "Thanks" to others for corrections is very important. It will encourage them to help others :)
