$1 Million For A Husband!
Dorothy and Joseph Hutelmyer were married for eighteen years. Then Joseph Hutelmyer left Dorothy and married his secretary, Margie Cox. Dorothy was shocked and hurt. "I loved him," she said. "I believed in Joseph. I thought we would always stay together. We had a good marriage."
Obviously, Joseph disagreed. He said he was going to end the marriage much earlier, but Margie Cox encouraged him to stay with Dorothy. "I was miserable," he said. "I had to end it."
Dorothy Hutelmyer thought a lot about her life with Joseph. She had good memories of raising their three children, going on vacations, and coaching soccer games together. Dorothy was furious with Margie Cox for taking away her husband. "Margie broke up the marriage," she said. "I needed to say, 'This is wrong'." So she took Margie Cox to court.
During the seven-day trial, jurors heard that Margie Cox and Joseph Hutelmyer went on many business trips together and that Joseph's car was often parked outside Margie's house late at night. They also heard about how Margie started wearing short skirts, makeup and contact lenses after she became "the other woman." Margie denied breaking up the marriage. She said, "I was sorry for what they were going through, but I couldn't take responsibility for the breakup of the marriage. There was no marriage to break up."
The jury didn't agree with Margie. They ordered the secretary to pay Dorothy Hutelmyer one million dollars for stealing her husband's love. Now Dorothy lives with her three children in a $300,000 house. She also receives $4,000 each month for child support.
Joseph Hutelmyer and Margie Cox Hutelmyer live in a small, cheap apartment with her two children. Margie doesn't have any money and hasn't worked for a couple of years.
