Hey Asiah, I am impressed! I really like your entry, and I think it is written very well. There are some mistakes though (I didnt check the Wikipedia part for mistakes)
Learn Bahasa Indonesia by Listening Indonesian Music : Efek Rumah Kaca
I learned English by listening music. After I could get a grasp of what they talked about, I read a more complicated articles, and the cycle went on (because you used past tense before in the sentence, I changed the second word to past tense). Though my English is still not perfect, but (Not needed because you used "though") I am fluent in conversational English. So I'd suggest this method for any foreigner (foreigner needed an article) who wants to learn Bahasa Indonesia.
I don't like mainstream music. I'm a lot more into Indonesian indie music scene. No, I'm not a snob. But Indonesian mainstream music scene is all about love. And they got a similar style in one moment. When the trend switch into other style, they will follow it. (I'm not sure what you are trying to say here) So it isn't too interesting for me.
Nowm I'd suggest Efek Rumah Kaca, a band. Hey, i don't know if you're into this genre, but they got a simple lyrics (but have a deep meaning), and it is writen in standard bahasa Indonesia. The songs : Cinta Melulu (well, melulu isn't standard, but the others are pretty simple), Di Udara, Kau dan Aku Menuju Ruang Hampa, Mosi Tidak Percaya, Wah, the list would be long. They only had 2 albums 'til recently. I guess you could find it on Youtube. you could also go to efekrumahkaca.net. If you like them, you could support them. Cheers :D
Did you really learn conversational English just through English songs? To me that is amazing! How do you use music to teach you?
