黄王[because 王 is a chancellor and has the power of banishment. 黄 is only a bureaucratic of now power]安石苏东坡对联 The Couplets of Wang An Shih and Su Dong Po.
A Chinese poem to go with our weather in the northern hemisphere ~
Poet Wang An Shih 黄王安石 wrote this poem: which roughly translates to mean autumnal wind brought all the chrysanthemum petals to the ground.
“西风昨夜过园林, The west wind of last night blew through the garden,
吹落黄花满地金 Down came the petals of chrsanthemums [yellow flowers]. All ground golden.
However, Poet Sung Donng Po 苏东坡 thought that the poem was wrong, inaccurate because chrysanthemum petals don't do not fall because of the plant being resistant to the cold. So he added two more lines to the poem:
“秋花英不比春花落,Autumn flowers do not all like those of spring.
说与诗人仔细吟” Poet oh poet, better to recite more carefully.
It means, chrysanthemum petals don't fall; next time, look before you write.
黄安石 When Wang An Shih was not happy to read it, offended and to teach him a lesson, when he had the chance, he had Su Dong Po banished to and thus had 苏东坡 sent to Wangchow, 黄州. Soon afterwards, there, Su Dong Po realized his error when he indeed saw 苏东坡 saw that the chrysanthemum petals did fall along with a gust of wind. Only in 黄州.
So The message moral of the story is, that never to don't assume you know everything. ^_^
