If I stay: Opinion If I stay is a book which has exceeded my expectations. I've loved Mia's parents; I think they are a strong point of the novel. I've laughed a lot with them. All characters have seemed very real for me, lovely. It's easy to get to loving them and it's hard all what happens. Being such a personal narrative makes you get into the skin of Mia, feel all her pain and you get understand her. Gayle Forman's writing is poetic, heartfelt, poignant, dramatic and sad with some Gothic overtones. I've loved it from start to end, as it mixes all the drama with sentimental, funny and happy moments which makes you sigh, laugh and feel. The novel's rhythm at the beginning is slow, but when you have read a few pages becomes crazy and addictive. You can't stop reading, you're feeling afraid and looking forward to the end comes at the same time. You want to know what Mia is going to do with her life. This book teaches many of moral values such as friendship, love, to know taking advantage of life and happy moments, because you never know what can happen to you in future. Also, it makes us think about death, that although it's a little taboo topic, I've found it very interesting. Death is present all the time. Lurking. The romance between Adam and Mia is slow, but it's getting be strong along time. It's sweet, exciting and overall and what I’ve liked the most is that it's real. You can see they suffer problems, discuss, there are difficulties in their relationship, but they exceed it. Another thing that I love is that music plays such an important role in the novel. Into Mia's life and the life of her family and her friends is present at all time. It's like you were reading the book with a soundtrack.

"If I Stay": Opinion

"If I Stay" exceeded my expectations. I loved Mia's parents; I think that they are a strong point in the novel. I laughed a lot while reading about them. All of the characters seemed very real to me. It was easy to love them, and it was emotionally difficult to read of what happened to them in the story. I felt afraid for Mia and looked forward to the resolution because I wanted to know what Mia was going to do with her life. The romance between Adam and Mia began slowly, but it became stronger with time. It is sweet and exciting, and most of all, it is realistic, and I appreciated that. I enjoyed reading how they discussed their difficulties and overcame them. Music plays an important role in the lives of the characters and it is present throughout the story, as if the book was written with a soundtrack.

Because the narrative was written with such a personal tone, I could imagine all of Mia's pain and I felt that I understood her. Gayle Forman's writing is poetic, heartfelt, poignant, dramatic, and sad, and gothic. I loved it from beginning to end. It mixed drama with moments which were sentimental, funny, and happy, and caused me to sigh, to laugh, and to feel connected to the characters. The rhythm is slow at first, but after reading a few pages it becomes crazy and addictive.

This book promotes values such as friendship and love, and taking advantage of life's happy moments because we can never know what may happen in the future. The book also explores death, and although some may consider this topic to be taboo, I found it to be interesting because death is always present and lurking about.
