Nobody could have imagined twenty years ago that technology would change our lives the overwhelming way it has done it. The present essay will be aimed at discussing which aspects of our daily life have been affected most by technology. There is no doubt that technology has broadened the possibilities of communication among people, not only in terms of time but also distance. Currently, electronic devices permanently-connected to the Internet allow us to keep in touch with relatives, fellow workers and friends practically in real time. Either, people living close to us or hundred thousand miles away on the other side of the globe. Working life is another issue affected by technology that has given birth to the so-called modern term of tele-work or tele-commuting, consisting on working at home by means of a high-speed broadband Internet connection and in flexi-time. Probably, the dream of many people who hate waking up very early in the morning or loathe traffic jams. Taking into consideration the previous ideas we can conclude that whereas the global percentage of tele-workers all around the world is still excessively low in comparison with real commuters, the access to the Internet and the communication-based applications are nowadays considerably more extended and therefore it has affected most and in a deeper way our daily lives.
