OK, I get it now. Joey is making a joke. It's a play on words. Predicament means "problem" or "tough situation." So an emergency room is only for emergencies, right? So that's why they took Ross to the emergency room. If it wasn't an emergency, they wouldn't be there. If is wasn't an emergency, their problem would be less serious, so it would only be a predicament. By replacing the word "emergency" with "predicament", Joey is making a joke to demonstrate that their situation is serious, so the nurse should be more concerned about Ross' injury. If it wasn't an emergency, then they wouldn't be at the "emergency room", they would be at the "predicament room." So it is a joke. There is no such thing as a "predicament room." Hope this helps!

Hello, bluebottle! It's sitcom Friends. Ross is wounded at the emergency. The receptionist doesn't give attention. So, Joey says: It's an emergency. But you know that, or we'd be in the predicament room. Thanks your help.

Interesting question, Maria. It might mean anything but it seems to me like something someone made up; like 'right handed lamp', 'Indian restatement', 'joint density gesundheit',... ie, some random adjective+noun. Take your pick or make your own one up. PS did it come from a song?
