A new foreign friend hopes I can introduce a simple easy Chinese ancient poem. I love a lot but this is one of my favorite. When I was still a little kid, I was so moved by it although I knew nothing about love that time. Written on (a wall of) South Village in the Capital 唐(Dynasty Tang) 崔护 去年今日此门中(zhong), This very day last year,at this very door. The pretty face outshone the peach blossom. 人面不知何处去(qu), I don't know where the beauty go, 桃花依旧笑春风(feng, ancient sound is fong)。 The peach flowers still smile in vernal breeze. explanation: 1. 人面:a person‘s face. 2. 风:now in the south of China we still say 风 fong, and I think it is the ancient sound,:D. It is said many words in Mandarin are not sound like ancient time. So use Mandarin to read ancient poetry, you will find many places are not rhyme. OK,this poem is pretty easy,I don't think any other place I need to explain. I like such kind of poetry, you can't find any word related to love, but you can feel the poet's deep love though all the lines.

Last year on this very day at this very door,
Ruddiness vying with peach blossoms red.
Where is that beauty now? I know not,
Peach blossoms, as usual, smiling in the springtime breeze.

Inttoducing a Chinese ancient poem ——

A new foreign friend hopes I can introduce a simpler, (easier to learn) Chinese ancient poem. I love many but this is one of my favorites. When I was still a little kid, I was so moved by it although I knew nothing about love that time.

Written on (a wall of) South Village in the Capital

This very day last year,at this very door.
A  pretty face outshone the peach blossoms.
I don't know where that beauty went
桃花依旧笑春风(feng, ancient sound is fong)。
(But) the peach flowers still smile in the spring breeze.

(we wouldnt say vernal, i dont think -  very rare... not sure what it means without looking in dictionary.....)

explanation:
