what is the difference between"destroy" and "damage",please?

Destroy means : damage something badly and it cannot be used anymore ;ruin completely. Damage means : injury or harm that reduces value or usefulness Destroy > Damage

The word "destroy" implies total devastation. The word "damage" only implies harm, extent unclear.
