What's difference between "frame of mind" and " frame of reference" ? I have checked the meaning of " frame of mind " and " frame of reference" in the dictionary but their explanation are still unclear to me. Any one can give me a sample sentence for reference ? Thanks in advance.

I'm in a bad frame of mind: my mood is low and my attitude is aggressive and antisocial. Your frame of mind comes 100% from yourself. But a frame of reference is not so personal - it includes objective facts. It provides the parameters or reference points of thinking and behaving. If I use Islam or Judaism as my frame of reference, then eating pork is a very bad thing. If I use Christianity as my frame of reference, there is nothing wrong about eating pork. If the Austrian School of economic theory is my frame of reference, it is wrong for the State to provide education and health care. If socialist economic theory is my frame of reference, it is very good for the State to provide these things.

Scientifically there is a special meaning for frame of reference if you study Physics. It's often a coordinate system we use as a reference to consider an object's motion or behaviour relatively. Newton's laws about motion are based on these frames of references and sometimes we simply say just frames for them. Frames of references are so often used in physics,it's like a kingpin in physics. Frame of mind has a direct meaning if it is literally translated in to my local language that goes beyond what the coach has described. People have different thinking styles. Something that is good for someone, might be bad for someone else. Specially extremists of a religion might have a very different thinking style, you know, for example towards killing some kinda animals for food. So in our local language we can say frames of minds of extremists of 2 religions can be considerably different. I think, also in English 'frame of mind' can speak for some profound meaning too. Dictionary meaning of them frame of mind- a particular mood that influences one’s attitude or behaviour: he was in a relaxed frame of mind frame of reference- a set of criteria in relation to which judgements can be made: the observer interprets what he sees in terms of his own cultural frame of reference a system of geometrical axes in relation to which size, position , or motion can be defined. i totally agree with BEcoach. However, i need to mention " frame of reference' could be used in this sense as well. I have no frame of reference for the word ghtheggghd; it means it is not tangible or you cannot imagine clearly what that thing is.
