As you can see from the variety of answers, it is really a matter of personal preference. Some like chatting online, some hate it, and some think of it as a true waste of time. In the end, the only thing about chatting online that really matters is if YOU enjoy it and derive benefits from it. In your lifetime, I suspect more and more people around the world will use online chatting. This means it will be available for you to explore in as much depth as you wish. And it will also be available for people to hate as much as they wish!! So, do what makes you feel good and do not worry too much about what others think. The world is a big place and we are rarely alone in our desires.

Hi, talking to strangers may or may not be a waste of time! some strangers are kind enough to talk with especially those professionals who have a very nice motive to the person they are talking with, and some strangers are so rude who only want nasty things on the net, so beware of those people, let 's make this website an avenue for good wisdom and not for those nasty things.....thanks i hope i contribute conscientiously to the question .

No, I don't think so, in fact, I've got my best friends here and i'm chatting with them almost all my free time. So I can share my routine of my life with all them. I do not consider them, strangers, Although they are not physically with me, their virtual friendship is very valuable to me." They are already part of my life". I love them all.

Strangers can sometimes be better than any psychologist.

Big NO.. I don't think so.. i actually have plenty of people to speak to in real life, but i enjoy more sharing opinions and learn with more diverse groups of decent people, just because they are not physically here that doesnt mean im wasting my time or im a loser for considering them real friends.
