Fenton Benton,
"To play to the score" in the world of sports means to adjust your strategy and tactics according to the score of the game.
For example, if you are playing football and your team is ahead 1-0 with one minute left to play, then your team will take no chances but instead will play a defensive game in order to preserve the win. On the other hand, if your team is behind 0-1 with one minute left, then your team will play a wide-open offensive game and take many chances in order to achieve a tie.
"To play to the score" in the world of music means to play using a written copy of the musical notation as a guide. It has the exact opposite meaning of "to play by ear" which means to play music by hearing and memory, not according to a written script.
"To know the drill" is to know the correct or usual way of doing something.
-Turn off the lights when you're done, and close the door, you know the drill.
"To know the score" is to know the truth about something.
- Don't try to lie to me about your girlfriends. I know the score.
