When somebody tells you "take care" may I answer with "you as well", or how would be a better way to say that?

When somebody tells you "take care" may I answer with "you as well", or how would be a better way to say that? = REWRITE: When somebody tells you "Take care," may I answer with "You as well"? Or what would be a better way to say that?
That's much nicer than what I usually say. I usually say, "You, too. Have a safe drive home."
