This or these
hello,
I'd like to ask about using this or that with pants
can I say:
this pants
or
These pants
and can I say another (one) refers to pants
some other words:
jeans
socks
shoes
All the items you refer to are plural nouns, therefore you need to use "these". You use "this " with singular nouns. Examples: this book, this film, this shirt, this tie, this hat etc.

You mean in your question if the words " pants, jeans, socks, shoes, etc." are considered as exceptions. But they are not.. We directly use them as plural nouns, So, the answer is to use "these" with such plural nouns..
Keep on.. ^_^
