How to use or call the husband in Japanese language ? 夫、旦那、or主人? My some Japanese friends often call their husband " 旦那", some of them call " 主人" . What is the diffrence between 夫、旦那、and 主人? And how to use them ?

I think 旦那 and 主人 are kinda colloquial expression. 旦那 is casual word and we use this only in the conversation with our friends. 主人 is a bit formal than 旦那. We use this in the conversation with acquaintance. 夫 is a formal word. This is used as a written word more than a spoken word. You can see 夫 in official documents, the news and so on.

I am sure that in Vietnamese, it is the same reason. Modern or archaic and using Sino-Viet terms. 丈夫 is the modern term while 夫君, 夫世, 夫郎 are archaic but more poetic.
