For some examples:
1. 哪
哪边? Which side?
她在哪边? Which side is she in? 她在左边. She's in the left side.
哪里? Where?
你在哪里? Where are you?
哪个? Which one?
你要哪个? Which one do you want?
哪些? What (things)?
你要哪些书? What books do you want?
哪种? Which kind?
你要看哪种书? Which kind of book do you want to read?
2. 那
那个 that one
那个人 that person
PS: 个 is just one of the measure words in Chinese. You would also say: 那本书 that book, 那条鱼 that fish, 那只猪 that pig ... (See a grammar book for details) :)
那边 over there
and so on...
I suggest you to learn word by word, not character by character, or learn a character from its words and expressions. Because many characters in modern Chinese language don't have a whole-word meaning, just like the "hus" doesn't make sense without its word "husband". :)
