Hello, thanks for your question. Sparkling is a formal word meaning fizzy. It can be used for both alcoholic and soft drinks. It's usually used for wine but could also be used for more expensive mineral water e.g. Perrier.

Sparkling drinks are carbonated drinks or fizzy drinks. (The drinks that have bubbles in them.) Some examples of non-alcoholic sparkling drinks are: carbonated water, sodas, tonic, carbonated juices, etc. There are also alcoholic sparkling drinks, the most common being sparkling wine. It's usually rose or white carbonated wine. A good example would be Champagne. I hope this helps! =)

That was very helpful ! Thank you Alicia, Jura & Barney. I saw a sparkling date drink & pomegranate drink and it was mentioned that it's like champagne but it's non-alcoholic.
