the difference between "dormitorio" and "habitación"? Hey, I've been looking up vocabulary recently and I'm very confused with these two words. I know dormitorio means bedroom. And habitación means room. But, is it possible habitación could also mean "bedroom"? Because I searched the images of these two on google, all the pictures I got were bedrooms.Well, in my Spanish textbook there is a short conversation: A:¿Cuántas habitaciones tiene? B:Dos habitaciones, un salón, conina y un cuarto de baño. Based on the content, it gives me a confusing signal that habitación could also mean bedroom. Am I wrong?

When referring to the bedroom, there's no difference to say "habitación" o "dormitorio", however, "habitación" also can also refer to any other room in the house. For instance, "la casa tiene 3 habitaciones, un living, una cocina y un dormitorio" (the house has 3 rooms, a kitchen, a living-room and one bedroom) I hope I have been of some help! ;)

...also, "habitación" is used for a room in a hotel, even though they're all "dormitorios" :)
