What is the usage of 'claim ticket' in this situation? Script The airport shuttle bus will be arriving shortly at the domestic terminal. We ask that you remain seated until the vehicle has come to a complete stop. If you have luggage stored under the bus, please show your claim ticket to the driver to collet your bags. Question I don't get what claim ticket mean. I think "claim ticket" can only be issued when there is a defective product, poor service, etc. Is there other meaning of claim ticket?

a "claim" is an assertion of ownership (and also, more broadly, an assertion that something is true), so that ticket is your proof (assertion, statement, "claim") that you own your baggage. In the early days of my country, there were mining towns that sprang up in un-owned land. People would "Stake a claim" by literally putting wooden stakes in the ground around the border of the property that they wanted to mine, and keep the profits from any gold or silver they found there.

The verb "to claim" has several meanings. One of them is "to demand, ask for, or take as one's own or one's due". In this case, you present your claim ticket to claim your luggage, i.e. to have someone give your luggage back to you because you are its rightful owner. In the case of a defective product, it's a noun, and more specifically, a "liability claim". It's a legal procedure and does not involve issuing a ticket.
