The verb 'to recommend' in Japanese reads すすめる and おすすめ is a noun formed of that verb, meaning 'recommendation'. おもしろい本が読みたいのですが、何かおすすめはありませんか。-I want to read a good book, do you have any recommendations? 外国語を勉強したいなら、italkiがおすすめです。-If you want to learn foreign languages, italki is my recommendation.

You can use おすすめの+ noun. おすすめの映画ある? →Can you recommend me some movie to watch? And, you can also use おすすめ as noun. この本は、おすすめですよ。 →I recommend this book to you.
