I don't think there are really any short cuts other that drills and usage. I found learning the letters one class at time (mid/high/low) helped especially when learning the tone rules. In the meantime this is an upbeat song that might assist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sY40nw-kxKo

I found these videos very helpful in putting my mind in order. The haw heep video has some very useful notes on how the whole Thai alphabet is ordered. That starts at about 30 seconds in. http://www.tvlesson.com/video/5664_thai-language-lessons-understanding-haw-heep.html And here's the Thai alphabet in general, once again: http://www.tvlesson.com/Thailanguagelesson90#/u/video/5630_thai-language-lessons-thai-alphabet.html

Hi Cynnie. I used to have a similar trouble (as do many I guess), but I got an idea from a book my Harry Farber and subsequently created my own book about learning Thai and then created a web-based and iPad app to teach you the alphabet (and to read Thai). You can then try out the app for 3-days free to see if it helps you and you like it, then you can decide whether to purchase; if it doesn't, or you don't, then there's to obligation whatsoever. No credit card of any form of payment details are required to try it out. We also have various books to help learn Thai, and feedback is good. I won't list them here as it'll look like this message is something altogether different; but, if you're interested, head over to : http://www.learnthaialphabet.com/ and you'll find for the trial there. Regards, Russ
