"Even though" in French? What would be the most common way to say "even though" in French? For example: Even though they were the first to arrive, they finished last. Google Search returns: même si Does "même si" not translate literally to "same if"? Merci.

"Même si" is correct but I think "bien que' vwould be more accurate. That's what I've always been taught anyway.

"même si" is right. It mean "even if". Même as several meanings : even & same and if coupled with other words it can mean just as, himself, directly on...
