what's the difference between enquiry and inquiry? enquiry VS inquiry or equire VS inquire what's the difference?

In the United States, we use "inquiry/inquire." In the UK, they use "enquiry/enquire." From my understanding, they are the same words, and the spelling depends on where you go.
