Here is an example: Me: Don't worry, I'll wash the dishes tonight. Boyfriend: What's the catch? Me: You have to wash the dishes for the rest of this week. Boyfriend: A-ha! So that's the catch! It's more of a trade - I'll do something for you but not for free, and I'll decide what you have to do for me ("the catch"). Hope this helps!

Think about a deal or proposition or agreement that seems really good. A "catch" is a hidden, unpleasant surprise that makes the deal bad. For example, when I was a kid, in Chicago camera stores you would see signs that said in huge letters CAMERA $9.95 And in tiny letters underneath: Case $29.95 Sold only with case So, you thought you could buy a nice camera at a very price. The catch was that you also had to buy a case at an inflated price.

Are you asking about the meaning of the phrase 'That's the catch!' ? It means, 'That's the problem'.
