Are both sentence OK? I am just doing my civic duty. I am just doing my part as a citizen.

You could also abbreviate "I am" to "I'm", which is more commonly used in everyday speech. However if you want to put emphasis on the first part then you can leave it as it is.

Both sentences seem fine. You could even write them with the word "just" if you wanted to. However, I'm assuming you've included it for emphasis.
