What is the correct meaning of idiom "pigeonhole"? What does expression "pigeon hole" means besides cabinet divided in smaller sections? Is it correct it's an expression for prejudice because of certain stereotypes addressed to certain groups of people? Example: And when she says “I'm Sagittarien” I confess a pigeonhole starts to form And is immediately filled with pigeon When she says her name is Storm.

I am not used to seeing it used in connection with stereotypes, although I can imagine that usage, considering the idea of putting things in compartments. I am most accustomed to the usage meaning to put something away with the intention of forgetting it.
