sea horse and dragons what is the connection? Why are they called 竜の落とし子 in japanese ? In japaneseタツノオトシゴ (tatsu) means sea horse but 竜(tatsu) mean dragon and 落とし子(otoshigo) means evil spawn and no means ('s)so 竜の落とし子(tatsu no otoshigo) means dragon's bastard child But why would someone call a sea horse that what do they have in connection to dragons?

Hi I would answer for your question as long as I found sources. There are no reason. Other unique names are Pegasus volitans- テングノオトシゴ Bastard seahorse- タツノイトコ I think old Japanese people named it after the face that they never saw. Have you ever seen dragon? I can tell you Japanese names easily are concerned the looks what to impress. ( for example fire works - 花火( ハナビ) means flower and fire.
