what's the difference between "I have done it before" and " I did it before" I see the difference between them.But I am not sure about it so want to make sure. The difference I see between them is like this below. ・When I say "I have done before.",I don't remember the right point of time when I have done but wanted to express if I did or not.The sentence can put a focus on if I have done or not rather than when I did. ・When I say "I did it before",I should remember the right point of time when I did but I don't think I don't need to say the exact time so that just I say "before" in the sentence. So the difference is if a speaker remembers (or pretend to remember) the exact date or not. Do I understand it correctcy?

Hi there, Don't make it too complicated for yourself, they both mean the same! The word "before" in this context simply means "at some point in the past". **Before can also be used other ways** However (in my opinion) "I did it before" does not sound very educated and might not be grammatically correct. I'm sure people do say it this way. "I've done it before" is a better way of stating it. Here are some examples : Have you been to London before? Yes, I have! Have you ever done something like this before? No, never! I've done this kind of work before, but it was never this hard! Oh, really? Let me know if this helps!!
