iru/aru or motsu? To describe possession (possess or own a thing), which is better to use in Japanese? - iru / aru - motsu For example: "I have (own) a cat." Which is better? - Neko wa imasu. - Neko wa mochimasu. Thanks.

Hi Bud. I'll answer it. "Neko wa imasu." is better. Because, you own lifeform. For example:You own(have) a dog(lifeform) -> "iru" pen(not lifeform) ->"motsu" Please forgive me my lousy English. :)
