What do "A" and "M" mean on my French radiator?
I'm currently in France. My electric radiator for heating has a switch, 'on' marked "M", and 'off' marked "A". I am curious what these letters stand for. "A" is possibly "arrêter"? But what is "M"?

You're right that the 'off' position is 'arrêt'. The 'on' position is 'marche'.
