Position of 'often' in a sentence Hi guys. I have a question. What's the right position of 'often' in a sentence? I mean, for instance 'I often travel abroad', or should I put it at the end of the sentence ? Thanks

The more natural place for "often" and other adverbs of frequency is immediately before a verb (except in the case of the verb "be" where it comes immediately after). You could put "often" at the end of a sentence if you want to put it in place of "a lot" (or "much" in negative sentences).

Both are good. There may be more emphasis when placed at the end.

As the others have said, “often” can go in many different positions. Yes, putting “often” at the end makes it more emphatic. We can even start the sentence with “often,” using a comma. However, it usually goes immediately before the main verb, or after “to be,” so it would be best to practice this most typical position. Once you’ve mastered the standard word order, you can start playing around with the position, but if get into the habit of putting “often” anywhere you want thinking that it doesn’t really matter, your English will always sound just a bit unnatural. The truth is that it’s best to first learn the rules before you start getting too creative. (By “rules,” I just mean the usual, “natural” style that native speakers use most of the time.)
