Aquí translation is "here" is an indicative, meaning "this very place" Por aquí is also an indicative but means "this way" - Excuse me, where is the airport? - perdón, donde queda el aeropuerto? - Right here! - aquí mismo! - Is here? - Es aquí? - yes, here! - Si, aquí

"Aquí" means "here"; in the same location you are. "Por aquí" means "through here" or "this way" depending on if you're pointing that someone/thing gone through somewhere, or if you're telling someone to follow you.

Aquí: exactly here, point or place. Por aqui: this way, some were here, but not the exactly point or place
